Artwork Perception of Aeorna and one of her Champions-Morkhaz

Aeorna is the Dark Sorceress, and was a symbol of the Legions of Darkness, of whom was lead by Ueamreai Gensou, she resembles powers to that of Necromancers and Warlocks, yet holds a high distrust towards demons, hence why she refuses to use them, but yet has abilities of which she taught herself, through experimenting and developing, however recent events saw the collapse of the Legions, including the betrayal of many of its Soldiers whom followed their officers.

Now she unites those under the banner of the Uprising, an organisation made up of different sections, Soldiers, Acolytes, and Assassins.

She is often accompanied by one of the Regius Patronus, her elite guard, the best of the Uprising, who are lead by Lord Aurcheus Deathclaw.

Background[]

Aeorna as a child was generally quite cheerful and happy, she had bright blond hair and was always happy to go out and play in the field in front of her home in the Hillsbrad Foothills. The strange thing was however, that as she grew older, she became more self centered, and became more lonely due to what the others also said.

In her teens Aeorna was one who would sit on her own in corners, stay on her own, being highly unsociable and hostile towards others. After a large argument with her parents one night, she stormed to her room and locked herself inside. When she knew her parents were asleep, she came out and went to the cellar, taking some rope and going up to her parent's room, she then slung it over the beams just below the ceiling, tieing it to a chest of drawers, then tieing the other end around her parents' necks, pushing it out of the large window, she hung them.

The next morning the authorities arrested Aeorna who had gone into hysterics, thinking as if she was possessed, they had her sent to Stormwind, to the Cathedral, to see if there was anything that could have been done. Driven mad by her own thoughts, they kept her in a crypt below the Cathedral, becoming more wicked and solitudinal, as when the priests left her alone, she began talking to herself, until one night, she got an answer, a demon spoke to her from the Shadows, opening a portal and taking her through it to see various wonders of demonic power, also of where other power could be found, giving her a small spell to practice with, he left, leaving her once again to her own.

As Aeorna experimented more, she discovered new spells, creating some of her own as well. One night as the lamps in the Cathedral was dimmed, she slipped up through the Scarlet Crusade quarters, and slipped away out of Stormwind.

Whilst she had spent her time with the Demon Lord, he also told her of a powerful Warlock in the burning Steppes, using the various magics she had discovered, she gained help from people who were driving caravans of goods in the general direction, however, none going to the Burning Steppes due to the large amount of Blackrock Orcs. Buying a hooded cloak, she found herself able to slip past them all and after a couple of weeks of travelling, her shoes had worn out and she had to resort to using nothing but her bare feet.

When she found the Warlock in the very North west of the Burning Steppes, she found him studying an altar with various other orc Warlocks, seeing she had potential, he took her on as his student, giving her food, water, and new clothes, including robes. She did as she was told, learning from him as the Demon Lord had told her if she truly sought power.

After a few months of learning from the Warlock, Aeorna grew tired of the shouting and the various disciplines he had inflicted on her, she turned on him one time, using the vast array of spells she had gained to escape, and make her return to Stormwind.

Upon reaching Stormwind, one of the priests who was looking after her in her time in the Cathedral, recognised her and tried to take her back there, obviously not what she once was, she turned on him also, incinerating his body with black fire, leaving his body whilst she took up refuge in an abandoned house in Cut-throat alley. During her stay there, she found guards on her doorstep one morning, coming in and searching her house, turning out not to be the Stormwind Guards, but instead a society of ex-soldiers, tired of the oppresions of the Stormwind heirarchy, calling themselves the Knights of the Shadows, they dedicated themselves to service in her name.

Slowly the Knights grew and grew, and the time came for them to gain power. Upon hearing of a heresy rising, the Archmage Ransagast began an investigation into the strange occurances, resulting in his finding of Aeorna in her home town in the Hillsbrad Foothills. There he confronted her, his old age weakening him, she overpowered him and killed him, retreating into the night to leave those he knew to greave.

Upon the moment of the Archmage's death, she proclaimed to her Knights that they would reforge their order under a new banner, the Legions of Darkness would one day establish their reign, those who were the Knights of the Shadows became the first Legion, the most elite, and from that moment on, Aeorna has held an element of fear over most of those who had encountered her and escaped alive, or having chosen her side for that moment...

Lately however, the reign of the Legions was put to an end, with the betrayal of the Legions' own officers as they left their Sorceress alone to face the small army that came for her, she jumped from the cliff, shifting into the Shadow Plane in order to save herself. Now an order known as the Knights of the Onyx Rose have arisen, to bring their Sorceress back from the Shadow Plane they are those who still remain loyal to her, rebuilding her army for the next coming of Darkness, gathering the relics and other reagents to see her return in future months...

Upon Aeorna's return, the Paladin Adric and a select group of others attempted to stop the summoning, of which failed, empowered by her hatred which brewed in her time in the Shadow Plane, she used a wave of dark energy to knock them all back, immobilising them or knocking them out.

Over the past months, she has remained quiet, plotting her next attacks as the forging of a new order dedicated to her, The Uprising, was born, as earthquakes and other elemental struggles have emerged...she plans on executing such attacks and plans. Over a month before the Shattering of Azeroth she began her campaign, striking from the Shadows, The Uprising attacked, spearheaded by Aeorna's elite force, the Regius Patronus, they began to wreak havoc in the cities of the Alliance, the first attack resulting in the execution of hostages as they fled, the second involving the kidnapping of many Kaldorei children within the city of Darnassus, their parents either wounded or killed, the last being an attempted burning of the Ironforge Library, leaving many books damaged, but repairable.

However, one attack, involving a raid on Menethil Harbor, Aeorna was confronted by a Slave, along with many of the military, along with the Grand Acolyte, and the General of the Military, Aeorna attempted to destroy the slave, known as Thebes...however, something was different. Thebes began to glow with a bright light, as energy of the Light fought against Aeorna's power, the two surged their power, Thebes beginning to struggle against the Sorceress' might, the mass of energy accumulated within the deadlock, both sides fled, the most they saw was a bolt of purple lightning strike, causing a massive explosion, shattering the dock of the harbor.

Not long after the waters began to rise around the keep and it began to break, it fell into the bay along with the dock as Deathwing began to shatter Azeroth, after escaping the Maelstrom, but this would not be the end of it, as Thebes reappeared not far from the keep on shore, Aeorna could not be found...

The rebellion had arisen, lead by Genegal Xiandia Tir'fallen, striking against the fortresses and bases held by the loyalists, settling down to lay siege. Lord Netherstalker quickly broke his siege, recooperating his forces immediatley, he set out for the other two, which were laid siege to, quickly breaking each one, then chasing them back to Outland, where the rebels had chosen to take footing.

Coincedantly, Xiandia also stood guard at the fortress, as the Legions of the Sorceress marched upon it, the ruthless yet successful tactics quickly broke the gates, and the forces were quickly crushed, in an act of desperation, Xiandia challenged Catainto to a duel, one on one, of which he quickly accepted. Clashes of swords rung out, and after a good five minutes of fighting Xiandia was quickly subdued, and hastily fled, with her forces. The rebellion was broken, in Catainto's eyes, this had become a game. A hunt.

After a week, Velice re-emerged, after a long absence. She was the one to reveal Aeorna's state, of which she lived. With Catainto's attention turned away from the rebel leaders that remained, Xiandia and Lariment, he now set his sights on the search for the Sorceress, and sent out two groups, to investigate the Altar of Storms in the Burning Steppes, along with a remote location within Silithus. Nothing was found.

A sudden explosion of dark energies came to light within the minds of the Acolytes of The Uprising. There was something along the Wintergrasp river, in Northrend, something which was calling to them, something familiar. Catainto took two soldiers and an Acolyte to Wintergrasp, searching with extreme intent, the slave girl Thebes, followed them, some of her memories recovered, and very minute things still missing from her memory. There was a small titan building, in the rock, no doors, no windows. Catainto touched a symbol on the side of the building, indicating the Sorceress' banner, the archway began to glow brightly, enough for them to shield their eyes, to keep them from going blind. As the light faded, she was there, behind a shield of her own energies, in a sort of stasis. A small stone, bearing a rune, hovered silently in the middle of the shield.

Catainto raised his sword, and struck at the shield, attempting to break it, instead, his blade bounced back at him, a voice sounded in Catainto's mind,

"The girl," it whispered, Catainto peering back at Thebes, glaring angrily, "You! Here! NOW!"

Thebes shook her head, shaking violently, Catainto approaching her, sword in hand,

"Back foul cur!" A familiar voice rung out, Xiandia leaping down from a drake, to Thebes' defence, blade in hand, Lakaz, a red bearded dwarf soon joined her,

"Run Thebes!" she commanded, clashing swords with Catainto, "Run!"

"Place your hand on the stone Thebes!" Catainto bellowed deeply, holding Xiandia in a position, their blades locked, "You will do this world the greatest good by doing so!"

The clashes continued, both screaming to Thebes desperately, trying to get them to do what they wanted her to, she was the key to the lock, and what this chest contained, was known by the two, however, the woman in the shield remained oblivious to her, yet she felt the fear coming from the presence of that woman.

"She only wants to exploit you and hurt you Thebes!" Catainto pleaded, "Please! Place your hand on the stone, and you can end this hurt!"

Thebes looked down at her hands, she was sure now, she steadily approached the stone, and placed her hand on it, a swirl of beams consumed her hand, a burning pain screaming up her forearm, eventually releasing her, unharmed,

"THEBES!" Xiandia shrieked, "What have you done!"

"Xiandia!" Lakaz shouted from below, having been kicked from the ledge, "We have to go! We can't win this!" Xiandia considered the situation, locking blades again, with the wickedly grinning Catainto, before shoving him backwards, leaping from the ledge and fleeing on their drakes,

The woman on the floor awoke, seeing the traitor leave. Aeorna had awakened, her hatred renewed. It wasn't long, before she returned to her tower in Azshara, and not a week later, Xiandia came to do battle, with a replenished force, which wasn't nearly as large as it was. Once again, Catainto duelled with Xiandia, but this time, she was ready, challenging him, she knew this would be the last battle.

Catainto once again dominated the fight, taking his true form, he pointed his sword at her neck, as he cackled, before raising his blade for the finishing blow, Xiandia stabbed him, straight through his armor, his form burned up, the armor falling to the floor. Aeorna however, emerged from the tower, and subdued Xiandia even quicker, as she was already tired. Xiandia suddenly broke free, by the help of a Paladin, wrapping her hands around Aeorna's neck, before Aeorna released a large explosion in Xiandia's direction, sending her flying, her form flying off the edge of the cliff by the tower, her body never to be found. The rebels submitted, defeated.

It was however, in the late month of December that Aeorna met her end, the ring she had gifted to Velice to look after, a seal on her power, to prevent it from exposing herself and causing her to become mortal, was taken by Mareduk Harkonen, who was assisted by a former Captain from the Legion and then the Knights, Malata Hydiro, who ensured its destruction, which came after a long and costly battle with the Sorceress, she then withered and rotted before the eyes of those who had survived the battle.

She has been buried in Lakeshire, alongside the mother of Velice Nightshade, the only person who Aeorna held dear, was the person to bury her, and vow her revenge for the death of Aeorna Shiridriel, the Dark Sorceress.

Involvement[]

Aeorna was a female figure of power. Representing that of a dark power, she tried to work more undercover, different to the efforts such as those of the Lich King and Kil'Jaeden

Strategy[]

Upon her time of the Knights of the Shadows, she took under her wing a young girl named Velice, whom she gave a ring containing a fragment of her soul in a gem, kept her from fully dieing and making it so she could draw her power from her own blood. Whenever Aeorna was physically wounded, she would go into hiding as should she loose blood, she becomes gradually weaker the more she lost.

Quotes[]

"In a world torn by war, only the strongest will survive, you my Champions and Soldiers of Darkness show that strength, and in doing so will crush any who should stand in the way of the Dark Powers!"
