Name[]
Syarimth Verdantis (Shar-imth/Si-ar-imth Ver-dan-tis). "Syarimth" being the name he believes he was given by his guardians, and later adding 'Verdantis' himself, which he took from a river in Feralas, being an area that he was exceptionally fond of. Syarimth was born "Ishari Mathu" but over the decades since he was separated from his family, the name has been lost in translation, and bastardised by the elven tongue.
Physical Appearance[]
Syarimth is a thin, docile creature, in part well built from years spent as a traveller and to a lesser degree, ranger, but seemingly scrawny nonetheless. This is becoming increasingly pronounced, and he is never seen to eat or drink. Due to having spent the majority of his life within a forest, he prefers dark clothes to counteract the heat of his familiar haunt Silvermoon, and goes so far as to keep the majority of his his face permanently covered. It is rumored to be a sign of shame he has for being troll kind, however this is mostly speculation. He can particularly identified by his shaven head, were it exposed, which he maintains to separate himself from other 'blueskins' and for ease in work. On his left wrist, there is a self-inflicted scar, which he enacted many years previously to pledge servitude to former masters. He once bore a black tattoo on his right shoulder of Malorne, rearing, that has since been covered by a branding mark, and four notches in his right ear of unknown origin. Recent conflicts in Arathi have given his arms a wide spread of nicks and scratches.
Occupations[]
As an educated man, he began studies of blood elves several years ago, to balance his view of the world. These have long since been completed, but its lasting impression has meant he spends most of the daylight hours in Silvermoon when he can. The greater majority of the Horde does not interest him, however, and he carries a degree of snobbery towards those who cannot engage in intellectual conversation. At present he has not been seen within the city walls for some time, due to his having sought redemption for slaying a worgen.
On a very private level, Syarimth became a member of The Bloodsail Elite with great reluctance. He is prepared to safeguard this secret with his life, as he does not serve out of loyalty, but a desire to protect certain individuals.
Background[]
Born to a family of traveling merchants, when he was barely able to walk they were said to have been betrayed by a man within their ranks, who sold the secrets of their hostile presence in Feralas to unwelcoming locals (whose identity and race still remain unknown). These things he later discovered from his Shan'do, who was said to have eyes amongst the past, and could pluck the truth from it. Perhaps deliberately, the young troll was found untouched, sheltering in the hollow boughs of a tree, covering his ears. Discovered by scouting Kal'dorei, amid the massacre the surviving child was pitied, and taken to Feathermoon Stronghold of Sardor Isle, where his former name and accent were, after a time, forgotten. The belief that they could make a better creature out of him than his true brethren would have done, seemed to fuel an intensity of repair towards all aspects of his manner. His teachings were divided between the island and the mainland, where he learned amongst other things the skills of the bow, a respect for nature, and the joys of meditation. As noted, he has lost every degree of Zandali and accent from his tongue, speaking much alike to the elves of which he will maintain were his guardians first and foremost. Though he knows the circumstances which lead him to be in their care, he seems to relish that it happened. That said, he is dissatisfied that fate did not allow him to be of one body, and instead mocks him as a Kal'dorei mind within the body of a troll.
The years between adolescence and middle age are cloudy, if not ill spent. He was a great traveller of worlds, allowing his mentors to show him Kalimdor beyond the trees, and take responsibility for people and posessions with which he was not familiar. Swayed by his people, he soon gained a sense of who he would and would not trust, amid ever shattering relations between the Horde and Alliance. To assist with his own discovery, he learned Orcish, which in many ways did not tally with his Darnassian tongue. Despite setbacks, he persevered, never leaving the collection of elves who he still considers family. After many years, he settled in Ashenvale, rebuilding a former ruin and making it his home; filling it with the books and trinkets of all his journeys.
Personal []
-Syarimth is particularly religious, though to avoid stirring trouble he mentions nothing of it in Silvermoon. Praying to Elune regularly, he has endeavored to create shrines in even the most unlikely corners of his forest. A splinter of this appears in his fluency with tarot cards, picked up from travelling humans with whom he was humbled by kindness.
-He plays and is exceptionally fond of the violin. This art was strictly reserved to his home in Ashenvale, as he did not wish to damage the instrument in transit, but it is one of the few items he chose to salvage after selling the house to the Kal'dorei.
-Syarimth is a recent pacifist; that being that he neither agrees with or condones war, and fighting of any kind. The fact that fraction divides continue amongst much greater threats angers him completely, so that any who do so, even his own beloved elves, will be dismissed from his compassion. With the surge of Horde forces into his forests recently, he has been swaying further towards the Alliance. This is only mentioned to those he can trust explicitly.
-Having had a mentor himself as a child, he has now been entrusted with the care and education of a young night elf, by the name of Nylan. The child is transferred from place to place to keep Syarimth's peace of mind.
-Due to great disciplines in his upbringing, Syarimth will rarely speak unless he is spoken to.
Criminal Record[]
-The murder of one orc of unknown name from Warsong Lumber Camp. The unravelling of this crime was the true reason for his banishment from Durotar. He served a short period of arrest, during which he was branded with the rune tyr, representing 't' (in Anglo-Saxon Futhark), and appears as what we would call an upward pointing arrow. The 't' stands for traitor. To add insult to injury, it was deliberately burnt over an already existing tattoo of Malorne, which he had carried since puberty.
-The slaughter of one worgen defending the gates of Gilneas with another, who attacked him and his associates as he accompanied two forsaken researchers into the region. Although he acted of self defence, and attempted to reason with the man with in what few words he knew, the process was particularly violent, considering his beliefs. He was so disgusted by his conduct, he journeyed to Darnassus, to accept whatever fate would befall him there.
