- Hopefully this should be at least operational for now. Working on Fancy bits but bear with me :)
TheShatar 14:19, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Katie
- Do you have a logo yet? I can try make one if you don't/don't have time. :D - P3a 00:36, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- I think Varath's friend is making one :)
- Well I got bored last night anyway, and here are two suggestions for a temporary one before we get a fancy one. It's based on the logo on the Sha'tar tabard available in-game - I considered using those colours instead of these ones, but then decided colour-coordination with the wiki itself was more important.
- I had a third one as well but scrapped it on the grounds that it was, well, scrappy :/ - P3a 13:49, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
"Coordination with the wiki page"...I dunno but I've changed the settings (dark blue and yellow, so it doesn't hurt my eyes so bad :P) and it might go for more people. So go with the original tabard colours please. Eyel 19:59, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
I like the art from the TBC artbook we have up there. It's nice.:) Davo86 01:29, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
- When I say "the logo" I mean the little "wikia gaming" thing we have at the top left of all pages on the wiki at the moment, that you click to get to the homepage - rather than anything ON the hopepage :P so the concept art would remain there even if any of these were chosen.
- The original tabard colours are thus:
- And therefore, in light of that request, I propose one of the following:
P3a 13:37, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
- I like the ones with banners. Also Davo, that concept art is great eh? (Guess who idea it was to steal a picture somewhere and put it on there *shifty*) Eyel 16:48, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Can we do something about the logo already? Been too long without one. I threw this together quickly if it's any good. :P Davo86 13:59, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
Good point about the logo. My designer pal is taking 18,000 years, so forget him. Cenariath 13:03, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Well, whatever we do, we should do soon. This wiki needs a little decorating to attract more players. Plus the Argent Archives instantly beat us. We need get some work done. Bob Namataki 16:50, December 10, 2009 (UTC)
And it sounds like a good idea to get some colour on the pages :)
Mailinya 18:08, December 10, 2009
Seems a while since anything's been said on the subject but I think we should just bite the bullet and go with Davo’s suggestion. May not be original but it’d add some much needed colour to every page and surely anything is better than that Wikia gaming logo!

1000th article Edit
Happy 1000th, Sha'tar EU :D P3a 11:59, November 2, 2009 (UTC)
Over a thousand articles and no logo? Plus I think we have the biggest realm wiki. Could someone verify this? Bob Namataki 11:55, March 10, 2010 (UTC)
No way near I'm afraid. The European Steamwheedle Cartel has the largest wiki that I am aware of at 1939 articles. It also has an awesome logo. *seethes with jealousy* Heydrick 13:41, March 10, 2010 (UTC)
Someone go and find the admin in game and pester her, haha! (I would, but find myself physically unable to.) And, I'm not sure on the size of Argent Archives, but it definitely beats us on sheer reputation points. It's been around for a long time, I suppose. Everything's bigger on Argent Dawn... ¬¬ P3a 16:42, March 10, 2010 (UTC)
AA is definitely the largest Wiki, and the most impressive looking. They're lucky to have some website genius to have sorted that all out for them. Shame the server smells of poo. Davo86 19:11, March 10, 2010 (UTC)
No need to find me. 'm right here. I'm not sure what exactly it is you guys want done, and secondly how on earth I'm going to find time to do it. If someone can send me an Image I can get it up there. My email is email@example.com. :)
The Argent Archives is not a wiki. Steamwheedle Cartel is the biggest but I have a character on there and hardly anything seems to be going on. They have roleplaying but lots of lollers. Plus apparently Earthen Ring and Darkmoon Faire are both falling in rp. What is going on? Bob Namataki 11:54, March 13, 2010 (UTC)
Logo up. That alright? Kaite 16:04, March 13, 2010 (UTC)
I say this looks awesome. Edanna Kal'es 17:21, March 13, 2010 (UTC)

Fit :3 - Shatarlore
That looks SO SUPREMELY COOL. Excellent! Thank-you! :D P3a 20:40, March 13, 2010 (UTC)
Awesome! Owns the steamwheedle one. :-D Bob Namataki 21:38, March 13, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, glad you all like it :) Kaite 22:27, March 13, 2010 (UTC)
Ooh! People are talking about my... I mean, Steamwheedle's wiki! <3 I wish there were as many people on my realm so interested in giving feedback and help with the wiki. :P
Which reminds me of an idea I once had of getting all EU wiki administrators collaborating and helping each other...
P.S - Logo and wiki both look lovely!
--Scartel's Admin 01:29, May 23, 2010 (UTC)
I had some ideas for the wiki. There could be a news section, advertising upcoming events such as meetings, battles etc etc. Plus random stories could be shown to get a sort of idea going of the type of characters we got here. I could probably rig some systems but nothing too fancy. But as for recent news, I cannot help. Completely cut off from wow. And please, no more trolling on my page. Bob Namataki 23:42, March 26, 2010 (UTC)
You mean: "I looked at Argent Archives and stole their format, claiming they're my own ideas", right? Davo86 14:02, March 27, 2010 (UTC)
And you seem to think they invented that. As I recall, wikipedia works similar to that. Which came first? The Argent Archives code is not original. Besides, I haven't seen the Argent Archives in a while. Bob Namataki 18:56, March 27, 2010 (UTC)
Er... Why can't we all just be friends here and/or stop talking about the Argent Dawn realm?
Anyhow... more on the topic. If there was a way to do a randomiser 'Featured Page' widget or something on the front page, it could be nice. I think we have (or at least used to have) a board for IC announcements on this wiki, but I assume it didn't work out that well. The problem is that probably half of the roleplayers on the Sha'tar don't read (or at least contribute to) this Wiki, which makes a news/events section less effective and impressive as the ideal would be. Menord 19:41, March 27, 2010 (UTC)
I'm only a co-admin of the Wiki, but as far as I'm aware, the idea is to make it as equal for everyone as possible. Featured pages, and their ilk, would inevitably add a subjective layer onto the Wiki.
The Wiki, as it is now, serves its purpose. It's great for documentation, it's great for linking people to your characters and guilds, and it's great for reading up on specific characters. I think people use this Wiki for specific readings, not so that they can browse. I may be wrong, but that's the impression I get. Gremgo 19:46, March 27, 2010 (UTC)
Good point. I used to read every new page but have lost the track a while ago now... and if you are correct, then even a script-controlled random Featured Page widget would be half useless - not to mention that I almost forgot there is already this thing called 'Random page'. Oh well... Let's just hope more people get to contributing. Menord 19:52, March 27, 2010 (UTC)
Perhaps it's time we adverites the wiki on the forums again with a new thread, or such? I know that over the past few months I've been away, especially, we've had a lot of old faces depart the realm, and a lot of new ones arrive. They may not be as aware of it as the rest of us. The forums themselves don't seem to have as many regular posters as when I left, but it's worth a shot, I think? - Rejectofsociety99 22:48, March 27, 2010 (UTC)
A new post certainly wouldn't hurt. Anyone up for making one, or should I get my typing gauntlets on? Gremgo 11:32, March 28, 2010 (UTC)
My plan was more to show upcoming events. I could check out some methods of doing it. But only public events, nothing private. Bob Namataki 12:24, March 28, 2010 (UTC)
WoW Model Viewer Edit
I'm pretty good with this program. I'll display some of my work somewhere. If anyone wants an image, tell me with some info. Bob Namataki 11:29, July 16, 2010 (UTC)
Not that I don't think the new colours are nice, but it's changed twice today. Is this our doing, or is it something we're not controlling? Davo86 15:56, October 12, 2010 (UTC)
It's half me being a numpty, and half the Wikia company not making it clear that an admin having a peek at the new Wikia style they're rolling out changes the style for the entire userbase, and, er, deleting the previous custom style. I'm trying to find the CSS code for what we had before, Monaco-Gaming, but thus far haven't been able to find anything. SORRY. Gremgo 16:49, October 12, 2010 (UTC)
In some ways, I don't mind the new skin that much. Easier to see, anyway! Refestus 22:21, October 12, 2010 (UTC)
Problems with uploading pictures Edit
Does anyone else suffer from uploaded pictures not showing? Edanna Kal'es 14:56, November 14, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I do too; it's just one of the many faults of this new implementation of the Wikia design. I assume the problem will soon right itself. Gremgo 15:34, November 14, 2010 (UTC)
Could I request the admins to make an easy-to-access page with links to special pages, such as dead-end, short and orphan categories?
Help and Helpful PagesEdit
I think the content of the Help page should be moved onto Helpful Pages. Help then would lead to editing help. Your thoughts? Eda 19:51, March 20, 2012 (UTC)
I agree with Edanna. As it currently stands, the difference between Help and Helpful Pages isn't perhaps as clear as it could be, and the similarity of the two names is a bit confusing. Perhaps we could have Useful Pages instead of Helpful Pages, and dedicate Help for editing help? --Menord 13:21, March 21, 2012 (UTC)
I'll take a look into it in the next couple of days, work schedule alllowing. Edit to say there might be a change. If yes Helpfull Pages would become Usefull Pages, and content would be changed as such. It's mostly down to wether the guy who made the front page so shiney and new wants to make a renamed graphic for the link there. -Stabik 18:13, March 22, 2012 (UTC)
I've changed that for you, is there anything else you wanted doing while I'm at it? Tirixian 22:48, April 26, 2012 (UTC)
That's all I've gotten requests for. Thanks Tirixian!
Stabik 21:07, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
I have an idea, but it might have to wait until we can justify a 4th row on the front page. What I'm thinking of is a direct link to a page with realm lore/headcanon. Eda 11:17, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
The reason of only having 3 at the moment is because it fits best on a screen (the whole point of this design.) If we make all the icons smaller to accomidate this new row, i think that they may be too small. Tirixian 17:15, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
Perhaps the next wikiweekend run could have a poll attached asking what else people want on the front page- if there's enough wants to warrent a 4th row, particuarly?
Stabik 21:07, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
Is the total edit lock on the front page completely necessary? For a small wiki like ours it's enough if un-logged users are prevented from editing. Eda 15:12, May 18, 2012 (UTC)
